Seedy and depressing like the best of Roadside America, the Carnival of Doom has long been on my radar as the perfect place to get my favorite genre of gothic clothing. I love the destroyed carny look, as if a dust-bowl traveling circus got ravished by vampires. The macabre jokes abound in the sim, which is patterned after the worst of cheesy carnivals, but cheerfully recreated to twang our nostalgia nerve... You've probably heard of the sobering news by now: Ely Buendia of the Eraserheads was rushed to hospital in the middle of the band's highly anticipated reunion concert, and what was supposed to be Pinoy Rock's event of the decade had to be stopped halfway through in front of audiences who were shown the exits with rather abrupt finality.
